Domainlore passes £5m in completed sales
Domainlore reaches £5 million in total sales, marking a huge milestone for the independent UK domain auction platform
Domainlore Hits £5 Million in Total Sales
October 2024 marked a significant milestone in the UK domain auction space.
Domainlore, one of the leading UK domain auction platforms, has surpassed £5,000,000 in total completed sales. This achievement highlights the growing value and importance of premium domain names in the UK market.
The £5m milestone was tipped by the sale of avaproject.org.uk, which garnered 25 bids and ultimately sold for £5,200. This sale not only pushed the platform over the mark but also underscored the strong demand for unique and valuable domains.
In anticipation of the milestone, Denys Ostashko, the creator and owner of Domainlore, started a forum thread on 4m.uk asking users to guess the date the £5m mark would be reached. A total of 35 entries were made, with KarlM correctly guessing 1st October 2024, winning a prize of 1/100000th of the £5m total (£50) added to his Domainlore account.
The rise and rise of Domainlore
One of the biggest sales in Domainlore’s history was helptobuy.org.uk, which sold for a remarkable £40,251 in June 2020.
This sale made headlines across news outlets, mainly due to a government blunder that allowed the domain to expire and drop, resulting in its public availability.
Domainlore has seen other notable high-ticket sales, including:
- tights.co.uk sold for £32,250
- healthcare.uk sold for £30,450
- holiday.co.uk sold for £27,850
- remortgage.uk sold for £17,000
- holiday.uk sold for £16,253
Congratulations and Looking Ahead
This milestone is a testament to the hard work and vision of Denys and the entire Domainlore community. Surpassing £5 million in total sales is no small feat, and it highlights Domainlore’s position as a leader in the UK domain market.
As the platform continues to grow, there’s no doubt that even more remarkable sales are on the horizon. Congratulations once again to Denys and Domainlore for this outstanding achievement, and here’s to reaching the £10 million mark in the near future!
