New UK domain name forum launched
Find out more about the recent launch of a new UK domain name forum
During the last week UKDNF.co.uk, a new UK focussed domain name forum was launched by Aaron Clifford, a well known and experienced name within UK domain circles.
What's wrong with existing UK domain forum options?
At least one other UK focused domain forum already exists (will not be named), and has been around for quite some time. I've been a member there for 13+ years at time of writing.
I have built relationships, friendships, and (hopefully) a positive reputation there during this time. But over the course of the last 5-10 years the forum has changed hands twice, and it just isn't the same.
There is now a heavy emphasis (rule) that the forum should be positive, professional, and friendly.
I'm sure that many members would agree that this is an acceptable expectation, but when both the owner and the administrator are non-native English speakers, language nuances are lost in translation.
The new owner also isn't keen on receiving genuinely constructive feedback, decisions are erratic, inconsistent, threads are closed and/or deleted prematurely, and at least one long-standing member has been banned when asking for clarity around a response the owner gave when asked if they read private messages.
Why start/join a new UK domain name forum?
At least one of the benefits of joining UKDNF.co.uk is that the owner is native to the English language, which allows you to use sarcasm openly. Constructive feedback is welcome, positive or otherwise.
You are also welcome to ask for clarity without fear of having your account deleted.
For many, that's reason enough.
